I did not have a Mulcahy-filled Christmas this year. But all of the Macaulay made up for it!

Christmas Wishes & New Year's Blogolutions

Mark Mulcahy performing Wonderful Christmas Time. This is just one of those fake out videos, it's just the audio with this picture from the performance. Either way, it's still a great song, and it's Mark so I'll watch anything. Just click play and check up on your other sites in a different window if you are going to be a brat about it.

I've got my fingers and toes crossed that I'll wake up to this Christmas morning!

New Year's Resolutions
-My goal for this blog is to talk about Mark Mulcahy so much that if he ever googles himself, I'd be at least on the first page of results.
-My other goal for this blog is to actually blog
-My other other goal is to get a sweet banner for the top of the page
-And an actual blog title
-...that seems like enough.

Happy Holidaze!

I Took A Break From Watching Gossip Girl And Look What Happened

We went canoeing with Lucy, Matt, and Jim on Saturday. It was a beautiful day, and the guy who strapped our canoe to Matt's car forgot to open the doors, so we had to slide in the windows. What and Outdoor Adventure! It was sort of swampy before we got in the lake, but I got to sit in the middle of the canoe and not do anything, so it was mostly a perfect trip! Afterwards, I took a 3 hour nap, because I am the biggest baby on Earth, while Dave played guitar in the basement.

Later that night, we rocked out to The Ramones and ate ice cream with David* and Jennie. David got really into it and shouted out the window at people, I wanted to yell something, but I knew it wouldn't be as good as, "ACT LIKE YOU'RE JERKING OFF!". Then we snuggled with their pups and watched MST3- Santa Conquers the Martians.

Dave and Jennie fell asleep, David might have too. I'm not sure because I was too busy trying to get Mitsy to chill out and cuddle with me.

On Sunday we went to Indy with David and Jennie. I bought a ton of extravagant headbands and other things that reminded me of Gossip Girl. We went out to eat afterwards, and Dave and I ordered the same thing, because we are the same human. He was really full after dinner, refusing to take my Kung Pao scraps, yet wanted a massive ice cream cone immediately after we left. I guess he deserved it after patiently waiting around for hours while Jennie and I went nuts at the H&M.

*From here on out, I'm refering to MY Dave as just plain ol' Dave, and Davorr as David, unless he has any better ideas.

I've been pretty stressed for the past couple of weeks.

So I bought this sweater.

Up On The Roof And Just Listening To Your Song

I cannot get over Mark Mulcahy. I've been on the hunt for his music since two summers ago after massively bingeing on The Adventures of Pete and Pete with my little brother. The first one I found was Polaris, because they were all I cared about at that point, and they did most of the P&P soundtrack . They only did P&P, and were really just a side project for Miracle Legion.

I was frantically searching for 'Waiting For October', a song about a crazy guy screaming about how the world would end Oct. 28, 1999. The song was usually featured as a closing song that ran during the credits, but it was one of those songs that makes you restless. So restless that you want to run outside (no matter what time of day) and do something.  In short, I think I'd get a lot more accomplished if the soundtrack to P&P was the soundtrack to my life. If 'Waiting For October' or 'Coronado II' was the sound of my alarm clock, I wouldn't be annoyed by waking up.

Next in line was Miracle Legion, equally as fantastic as Polaris, and almost the exact same band. Miracle Legion was Polaris+Mr. Ray Neal. Their discography is a little hard to get my hands on because of complications with their record label going bankrupt. So far, the only albums I have of theirs are Drenched and Me and Mr. Ray. These give me some P&P flashbacks, even though they weren't ever used on the show. Similarly to Polaris, Miracle Legion captures that end of summer feeling, walking alone on the first cold night of fall, and the nostalgia of childhood.

I just recently got my hands on some of Mark Mulcahy's solo music. In Pursuit of Your Happiness reminds me the most of Polaris, and makes me want to move to Connecticut for the fall.

So if you didn't know before, now you know. If there is a band that you feel like this toward, let me know. But chances are that I'll be too focused on my own obsession to notice yours.

Technically Still A Teen For Two Months, BUT....

Finally, an official blog. Man,  I am a grown up now.

Speaking of blogs in general, I kind of wish that the creators of My So-Called Life would create essentially the same show, but with the main character constantly blogging. Or just recreating the show would probably make me happy. I am so easy to please.

I mean, Angela Chase would be the best blogger. Can you imagine if they did a reunion show, what all of the characters would be like? I sort of just want to know what Brian Krakow is up to nowadays, ya know?
